Gwerin Iau / Junior Folk
November 30 - December 2nd £75
8 - 12 Year Olds
We welcome back our Junior Folk course for 8-12 year olds, created in conjunction with TRAC and Urdd Gobaith Cymru. During the weekend the participants will have a chance to take part in traditional musical and dancing activities as well as take part in Glan-llyn’s outdoor activities.
All the tutors specialise in presenting music and folk dancing to children of all ages. For the instrumental activities, it would help for the participants to have some instrumental background as they will be introducing tunes to learn from ear, but for those that do not play there will be plenty of opportunities to sing and take part in dancing and singing.
During the weekend there will also be an opportunity to take part in Glan-llyn’s exciting outdoor activities, from canoeing, high ropes, climbing and 10 pin bowling.
Transport can be arranged (for an extra cost) if there is sufficient demand
No school teachers will attend but Glan-llyn staff will be looking after the children whilst at the centre.
