Will there be an Urdd Eisteddfod in 2021?

As a result of the effects of Covid-19 and the current situation in Wales, Urdd Gobaith made the decision to postpone the Urdd Eisteddfod which was originally due to be held in 2020 until May 2022.

This means that the Urdd Eisteddfod will be visiting Carmarthenshire in 2023 and Maldwyn (Montgomeryshire) in 2024.

Following the success of the first-ever digital Eisteddfod in 2020, the Urdd will be staging another pioneering ‘Eisteddfod T’ during May 2021 for children, young people and their families.

What is Eisteddfod T?

The Urdd Eisteddfod, but not as you know it.

Eisteddfod T is a virtual event and the concept was launched during the lockdown of 2020 giving an opportunity for young people across the country to compete from their homes.

From the traditional folk solos and recitation to lip synch and talented pets competitions; Eisteddfod T involves the viewers by enabling you to turn your sofa into front row seats to enjoy all the traditional along with the fun and wacky competitions.
