When will the 2022 Denbighshire Urdd Eisteddfod be held?
The Denbighshire Urdd Eisteddfod will be held during the week of the Whitsun half term holidays 2022.
Stage competitions 2022
What will the stage competition pieces be in 2022?
All the original stage competition pieces for the 2020 Urdd Eisteddfod will stay the same in 2022.
An updated copy of the syllabus/programme of competitions will be available online during the Autumn Term 2021.
Who will be the adjudicators in the 2022 National Eisteddfod?
The adjudicators of all stage competitions in 2022 will be the same as the individuals originally chosen to adjudicate in 2020.
The judges at local/regional level Eisteddfodau will be chosen by local Urdd committees.
Home Work Competitions 2022
I sent my work in before March 1st 2020. Has my work been judged?
All the work received before the deadline has been judged and we will announce the results as part of a special event in the Autumn Term of 2021. More details to follow shortly.
Will the 2020 winning works be published in print format?
The winning pieces from the 2020 home work category will not be published. Although once the names of the winners have been announced, they will be available to view online . More details will follow shortly.
Will there be a new home work syllabus for the 2022 competitions?
Yes. New themes will be chosen for the home work category at the 2022 Denbighshire Urdd Eisteddfod.
The updated syllabus will be available to view on the Website.
Who will be judging the home work competitions in 2022?
The adjudicators named for the 2020 home work competitions will be invited to adjudicate once again in 2022.
Art, Design and Technology Competitions 2022
Will the Art, Design and Technology work be judged in 2021?
Unfortunately not as we were not able to complete the local and regional rounds before the postponment of the 2020 Urdd Eisteddfod.
The art, design and technology competitions will start again in 2022 and the theme for this category will remain as ‘Mor a Mynydd’ (Sea and Mountains)
Will I be able to present the same work for the 2022 Urdd Eisteddfod?
Yes. As the theme will be the same, and if you remain in the same age category, you are welcome to present the same work.
Will the judges be the same in 2022?
Yes. The adjudicators chosen for the art, design and technology category in 2020 will be invited back to adjudicate at the 2022 Urdd Eisteddfod.
Tickets 2022
I have purchased tickets for one of the 2020 Eisteddfod shows, what are my options?
As you have already booked tickets, you will need to consider the following options:
Option 1: You keep the ticket, and your seat for the 2022 show. If this is what is desired, there is nothing to do now. We will confirm 2022 arrangements as soon as possible.
Option 2: Ask for a refund, which will be paid through BACS. If this is the option for you, please click on the red box below, complete the online form and email eisteddfod@urdd.org.
The refund could take up to four weeks to be processed.
Option 3: You don't wish to keep your ticket or your seat for the 2022 performance, but you would like to support the 2022 Urdd Eisteddfod by contributing the ticket fee towards the fund. If this is the case, please click on the yellow box below, complete the online form and email eisteddfod@urdd.org.
My child is taking part in the primary school show – will the show go ahead?
Yes, the primary school show ‘Penawdau’ will be performed during the week of the 2022 Denbighshire Urdd Eisteddfod. The original cast will all be invited to perform and rehearsals will restart during the spring term of 2022.
My child is taking part in the Youth Show – will the show go ahead?
Yes. The Youth show ‘Dan y Fawd’ will be performed during the 2022 Denbighshire Urdd Eisteddfod and we will confirm the dates shortly. The original cast will be invited to perform and rehearsals will restart during the spring term of 2022.
Sponsorship 2022
I have sponsored the 2020 Eisteddfod – what happens to the sponsorship package?
Sponsorship packages will be available in 2022 and we will carry your contribution forward. We will be in contact with all sponsors and partner to discuss the arrangements.
I have sponsored a specific competition in 2020 – will it stay the same in 2022?
Yes, the sponsorship arrangements will be carried forward to our 2022 competitions.
I have placed an advert in the official programme – will the ad be carried forward to 2022?
Yes. We will be in touch closer to the time in case you need to send a new advert with revised dates or information.
The Maes (Eisteddfod site) in 2022
I have ordered a stall on the Maes during the week of the Eisteddfod – what happens to my application?
A new stallholder pack and updated prices will be introduced for 2022. Although you have already completed an application form for 2020, we will be asking all stallholders to complete a new form for 2022.
If you have already paid a deposit, it will be kept until 2022 and taken off the total amount.

I have booked a space on the Caravan Site – what happens to my booking?
A new Caravan pack and prices will be introduced for 2022. If you have already completed an application form for 2020, we kindly ask you to submit a new application to secure your place in 2022.
If you have already paid the full amount, it will be carried forward to 2022.

Local fundraising activities in Denbighshire
I am a member of a local fundraising committee – what happens to the money we have raised towards the Eisteddfod?
The funds already collected will be kept and invested into the 2022 Urdd Eisteddfod.
Can we keep raising money for the 2022 Eisteddfod?
Yes, of course! Local fundraising committees are more than welcome to carry on with the great work, even if you have already reached your target!

What are the new dates of the Carmarthenshire Urdd Eisteddfod in 2023?
The dates of the National Urdd Eisteddfod in Carmarthenshire have been confirmed as May 28 – June 3, 2023.
When will the 2023 Carmarthenshire Urdd Eisteddfod syllabus be ready?
The syllabus and full list of competitions will be published online on the Urdd Eisteddfod website in May 2022.
Am I able to sponsor or give a medal for any competition at the 2023 Urdd Eisteddfod?
