Glan-llyn look for new trainees

Every year, Gwersyll yr Urdd Glan-llyn provides a trainee scheme, which offers the chance for young people to gain qualifications within the outdoor sector, all through the medium of Welsh.

Since 1997 Glan-llyn have given the chance to young people of Wales to develop their skills and receive training to work towards gaining recognised qualifications within the outdoor activities sector. This year is no exception, with the centre ready to receive applications from a number of people that wish to join our activities team for 2015-2016 as a trainee.

Between September 2015 and August 2016 the centre’s experienced instructors will lead and nurture a new group of trainees to work towards qualifications in a wide variety of skills in the outdoors, such as

First Aid

The scheme has proven very popular, with a number of individuals seeing it as a great experience, whichever career path they chose. Some of the previous trainees have gone one to work in a wide variety of fields including instructors and senior instructors in Glan-llyn and other activities centres, education and even the Police force, as well as Development, Youth and Sports Officers within the Urdd.

The closing date for applications is midday, 26th of June 2015.
