What are the options for providers?

Providers can refer learners to the Urdd to complete their Essential Skills qualifications completely through the Hwb by setting up a strong partnership or sub-contracting agreement. We have a competitive pricing structure and are open to consider an arrangement that works for you.

If you provide Essential Skills through the medium of Welsh already but need support in any way to allow your learners to succeed we can meet to discuss ways we can support you. Your learners could access our workshops, have access to our resources or you could receive our tutors’ expertise through marking work to support your provision.

Would you like to offer Essential Skills qualifications through the medium of Welsh or bilingually to learners at your organisation?

What is the HWB?

The Hwb offers bespoke qualifications and training for Communication, Numeracy and Digital Literacy in Welsh or bilingually. Learners can work towards their Essential Skills qualifications from Entry 3 to Level 3 with us from anywhere in Wales.

Who is the HWB for?
The Hwb is open to training providers to refer learners that would like to complete their Essential Skills qualifications through the medium of Welsh or bilingually.

The Hwb is for your learners if they...

  • haven’t practiced their Welsh in a while
  • have only used their Welsh in school
  • are keen to develop their Welsh
  • have a good level of Welsh
  • are fluent Welsh speakers

Why was the Hwb established?
Our Hwb was established to ensure that learners across Wales have the option of developing their Communication, Numeracy and Digital Literacy skills through the medium of Welsh or bilingually, by receiving training and experience of the highest standard. We ensure that the programmes are continuous so that anyone can start with us at any point in the year and complete through the medium of Welsh or bilingually. Most of the Hwb’s workshops are virtual therefore open to individuals and providers across Wales. Our vision is that learners receive an equal standard of learning, regardless of language when completing Essential Skills qualifications.
