The Eisteddfod is excited to be collaborating with Coed Cadw, the UK's largest woodland conservation charity, for the Maldwyn 2024 Urdd Eisteddfod! We are very grateful to Coed Cadw for sponsoring Y Garddorfa this year - a green area of the Maes that weaves together the environment and the arts.

As part of our collaboration, we are presenting two competitions for Key Stage 2 aged children in Wales. These are fun competitions to engage with the outdoor world, using their skills to explore the natural world and enjoy a variety of learning opportunities linked to the Welsh Curriculum.

We hope that the competitions will encourage the pupils to get to know nature and native trees that surround them on a daily basis, whether that is in their garden or in their local park.

The competitions are open from the 1st of February 2024 and close on the 30th of April. Pupils can do one or the other competition, or both!

Competitions will be judged by our Woodland and Trees panel including Tammie Esslemont, and the winners will be announced during the week of the Urdd Eisteddfod 2024 in yr Arddorfa. The competition pack with all the information is available here.

When your pupils have completed their projects, e-mail them by 30 April 2024 to: cystadleuaethcoedcadw@urdd.org
