The last time Eisteddfod yr Urdd crossed the bridge to Anglesey was in 2004, so the Urdd is looking forward to returning there in 2026 between the 25th - 31st of May. It’s expected that the festival will attract close to 100,000 visitors and create millions in income for the local economy.

In addition to the competing, there will be exciting exhibitions and activities in the GwyddonLe and the Art and Craft tent, and performance stages with dancers, live bands and groups entertaining all day, every day.

Children, young people, schools and families come from all over Wales and beyond to compete in the 378 competitions held at the festival. Local children will also have the opportunity to be part of the shows, projects and events that will lead up to the Festival.

The preparations for the visit are well underway; committees have been established and are already raising money and choosing pieces for the 2026 competitions. The executive committee have also been elected as follows: Chair: Manon Wyn Williams, Vice-chair: Derek Evans, Mari Ann Evans, Llinos Medi, Eirian Stephen Jones, Medwyn Roberts, Secretary: Fiona Hughes, Vice-Secretary: Greta Stuart, Treasurer: Rhys Parry.

The Eisteddfod is calling for volunteers to help with the festival's arrangements over the next two years. If anyone would like to join the arts committee to discuss the shows, assemblies, the service and the proclamation event then click the link on this page. Everyone is welcome to join!

Each area that hosts the festival receives a fundraising target, and Anglesey's target is £380,000. We will need as many local people as possible to help reach this target. The local fundraising committees are currently in the process of being established, and volunteers are needed from every community on the island to ensure that groups are formed across the county. Each committee will receive an individual target, and then once established, they will hold events over the next two years to collect money and raise enthusiasm within their communities, ensuring that everyone is part of welcoming the Urdd to the area. Everyone is very welcome to join, register via the form on this page to join the fun!

The Eisteddfod is also calling for nominations for Presidents of the Day, and Honorary Presidents for Eisteddfod yr Urdd Ynys Môn 2026. The Presidents of the Day will be well-known local figures, who represent the area and are an example for children and young people today. The Honorary Presidents will be individuals who have given a lifetime of contribution to the Urdd, through volunteering, support, or youth work. They’re the ones who have made a difference to the children and young people of the area and have worked quietly and continuously to give opportunities through the Welsh language to the youth of Môn. You can nominate through the form on this page.
