Jordan, who’s from Maesteg went to Ysgol Cynnwyd Sant and then to Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Llangynwyd. Jordan is now an apprentice for the Urdd in the Bridgend area.

Why did you choose to apply for an apprenticeship with the Urdd?

I wanted to do the apprenticeship to develop my training and leadership skills and to encourage children and young people to take part in sports through the medium of Welsh.

What do you enjoy most about your apprenticeship?

I enjoy the aspect of meeting loads of new people who work in the sports sector. I also enjoy that I help children with their confidence and enable them to enjoy taking part in all sorts of different sports.

How important is it to do your apprenticeship through the medium of Welsh?

I love that I contribute towards getting children and young people in Wales to do sports through the medium of Welsh.

What are your interests outside of work?

I’m very active and busy! I’ve always got something in the evenings, from practicing, training and playing different sport games!

What are you hoping to do after completing the apprenticeship?

I hope to have a job or an opportunity to work in the sports sector to improve and develop sports all over Wales.

Briefly describe your duties.

I run sports sessions for children from the ages of 3-18 throughout the week in several different types of sports and I love it!
