Apprentice of the month, October 2022
Elin is a young girl from Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni, Anglesey. Elin has been chosen as Apprentice of the Month, following her hard work completing her Essential Skills qualification, alongside her Childcare apprenticeship.
What do you enjoy most about your apprenticeship?
I enjoy that no day is the same and I can earn a living while learning new skills and earning qualifications at the end.
What does taking on an apprenticeship through the medium of Welsh mean to you?
I am happy that I can do an apprenticeship through the medium of Welsh, as that is my first language.
In which way has completing your apprenticeship effected on your personal development?
It has helped me raise my self confidence and develop my communication and technology skills.
What are you hoping to do after completing your apprenticeship?
I hope to get a full time job that will enable me to use what I have learnt in the apprenticeship.
Why did you decide to take on an apprenticeship?
I was offered a job working with children and I needed to do all the qualifications to go with it, and then the offer came for me to do an apprenticeship with the Urdd.
Briefly describe your responsibilities.
Assist the leader with duties that need to be completed in class.
