At the first meeting of the Executive Group in January 2019, it was announced that Llandovery will hosting the Eisteddfod in 2023.

 

This was the eighth time that Carmarthenshire have hosted the Urdd Eisteddfod although this was the first time that the Eisteddfod visited Llandovery. The Eisteddfod first visited Carmarthenshire in 1935 when the Eisteddfod was held in Carmarthen and the most recent visits include Eisteddfod Sir Gar in 2007 and Eisteddfod Cwm Gwendraeth in 1989.

Carys Edwards, was elected as the Chairperson of the Executive Group. Peter Harries, Lowri Thomas and Sioned Page Jones were elected as Deputy Chairpersons of the Executive Group. Gethin Thomas was announced as the Treasurer and Beti Wyn James as the Secretary of the Executive Group.
