Due to the nature of the course, participants will need to have a level of fitness to manage a full day of walking over mountainous terrain.

Over the weekend we will climb some of the highest peaks in Wales while learning mountain skills.
You will stay at Glan-llyn Isa, Llanuwchllyn. There are excellent indoor and outdoor facilities, comfortable rooms, a fireplace, and lovely views in every direction. Glan-llyn Isa' is across the field from Gwersyll yr Urdd Glan-llyn.
The course is co-run by the Mountaineering Club of Wales.
The training will be entirely through the medium of Welsh.
Timetable example
Friday, October 2nd
6pm Arrive at Glan-llyn Isa, dinner and an introduction to: map and compass work, equipment, night walk.
Saturday, October 3rd
Full day in the mountains using map and compass skills and working on steep terrain. (exact location dependent on weather etc)
Evening: Swimming Pool
Sunday, October 4th
Another day in the mountains ending around 3:30pm
