Located in Cardiff Bay, the Urdd Centre in Cardiff offers a unique space to make new friends and to get to know the city.
This exciting and unique Filmmaking course is tailored and aimed at young people who are keen to learn about filmmaking or develop their skills filmmaking further.
You will work with another 15 young people and a professional filmmaker to develop your storytelling and screen skills; from script writing and storyboarding, right through to camera operation, sound recording and editing.
Filmmaking is an accessible art form – there’s a role for every young person who wants to get involved, regardless of their prior experience or skills.
This project is delivered through Into Film's Every Child a Filmmaker programme; an exciting initiative that supports groups of young people from across the UK to make their own short film and learn every element of the filmmaking process along the way . We match the groups with professional filmmakers and together they develop the skills they need to tell their story, bringing new and unheard voices to the screen, as well as building their confidence and team working skills, and supporting their future career aspirations in the screen industries.
This specific Every Child a Filmmaker project is delivered through a partnership between Into Film (www.intofilm.org) and Urdd Gobaith Cymru and is funded by the BBFC
The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) is the independent film and video regulator for the UK. They exist to help everyone choose age-appropriate films, videos and websites, wherever and however they watch or use them, primarily through widely recognised and trusted age ratings and content advice.
Thanks to our generous funders, including main partners Amazon MGM Studios, EON Productions and Swatch, in our first year we will be able to support and enable 250 young people from across the UK, including the Scottish Highlands, Belfast, Cardiff and London, to experience the transformational power of filmmaking.
