Open Silver Expedition - South Wales

Cost for the full package starts from £290pp. This cost includes:

• Transport
• Equipment Hire*
• Camping fee
• Qualified instructors and assessor
• Training and supervision
• Overnight supervision              

 *Equipment available to hire includes: Tent, rucksack, roll mat, cooking stove, map and compass

Ready to register? Please click the registration link above to register and pay a deposit for a place on one of our expedition packages. Please pick the correct expedition package from the drop down menu to ensure you are registering for the correct dates. Please do not choose any package that is a school your child does not go to.

Please note - you will need your edofe participant number to register online. In order to get an edofe number, you must register with a Licenced Organisation (eg school, youth group). Please contact the Duke of Edinburgh Award if you are unsure on how to do this. We advise that your edofe be upgraded to Silver before the expedition at least.

To successfully complete the Silver Expedition unit with the Urdd, there is a number of things you will have to do:

• Register online and pay a deposit to secure a place, with the remaining cost paid before the training day. A link will be shared to pay the remaining cost. If not paid, participant may be refused to take part in the activity. 

• You must participate in the training day before the expeditions, no matter how much you already know - this is so we can ensure that you receive the right training before taking part in the expedition. We will also share some important information throughout the training day.

• Follow the Expedition Requirements set by the Duke of Edinburgh Award which includes:
  
  - Walk as a group of 4-7 members
  
  - As part of a group, you must write a meal plan and daily route cards for each expedition
  
  - As a group, you must come up with an aim to complete over the expeditions
  
  - You must be self-sufficient for the whole of the expedition and walking will be your mode of transport
  
  - Camp overnight in a tent
