Duke of Edinburgh Award

As a DofE Approved Activity Provider, we can provide bespoke expedition packages for all levels of the award, as well as run any training for teachers, volunteers and staff. See below or click on the level to find out more.

What is the DofE Award?

An opportunity to develop skills, help the community and improve your fitness, the DofE Award is a programme which is available for 14-25 year olds all over the world. There is 4 units to complete at each level, along with a residential section at Gold level. It can take between 3 and 18 months (if not more) to work through the volunteering, skill, physical and expedition sections. Activities such as volunteering at your local charity shop, learning to play an instrument or joining a sports team to name but a few.

Please visit the DofE website if you want to find out more, where you will find a lot more information on each section, as well as resources and FAQ's.

How can the Gwasanaeth help you with the DofE?

As an approved activity provider, we can help in a number of ways with the expedition unit.

Licensed Organisations (e.e. schools, colleges, youth centres)
Are you a new licensee or seasoned DofE centre? We can offer varied packages for your participants which includes training, equipment and expeditions at any level. Easily adaptable to suit your needs!
Are you struggling for qualified staff? We can help provide qualified and experienced staff if you normally run the expeditions 'in house'. From creating a bespoke package for you, or helping with staff or equipment, contact us to discuss how we can help you!

Participants
Have you registered with your school or college and unsure on how or where you can complete your expedition section? We run Open Expeditions at every level which run in the school holidays. These are open to any participants across Wales, so an exciting opportunity to complete the unit and make new friends! To find out more about our Open Expeditions, please click on your DofE level above.
