 What is the syllabus?

It's a list of competitions ranging from singing to reciting, hip-hop dancing to works of art and from design and  technology to cookery!

Competition Number 4 - Duet Yrs. 6 and under

 In Bar 29, the words are noted as  ‘A cofia ei rannu .....

In the last verse (page 19) it is written as ‘A chofia di rannu.....’

The words on page 19 are in fact correct but WE WILL NOT punish any contestants for singing the alternate version. Both versions are acceptable.

Competition Number 4 - Duet Yrs. 6 and under

Competition Number 10 - Cân y Ddraig, Robat Arwyn.

A unison choir competition but you will notice that the last cord in the song is in three part harmony - please accept our apologies for any confusion.

Please sing the lower note in the cord, the note F (only) in the last two bars.

ALSO....

It has come to our attention that there are differences between the 2000 and 2011 editions of this book. 

2000 Edition – Page 19  - The word 'rwyf' is missing on the note A on the top of the page.

It should read as – Yn falchder i gyd, rwyf yn ddraig go arbennig i’m dewis fel hyn.

2011 edition - Page 19 - This is the correct version.

Competition Number 10 - Cân y Ddraig, Robat Arwyn.

Choir Yrs.6 and under (PS) Schools with over 150 children between 4–11 yeards old 

You will notice some inconsistencies in the words in the following bars: 

Bar 16  - a dweud y stori’n glir

Bar 42 – a dweud y stori’n glir

Bar 50 – a dweud y stori’n glir

Robat Arwyn has now confirmed that "dweud y stori'n glir" is the coorect version and should be sung in bars 16, 42 a 50.

The adjudicators will be informed of this mistake and no competitors will be penalised for singing the incorrect version.

Bars 6-14 should be sung by the entire choir and the following bars should be sung by all members of the soprano/alto sections (please ignore any instructions on the copy which state that notes should be sung by a solo or a small group)

There is an incorrect note in the tenor line in bars 17 and 62.

In these two bars, the tenors should sing B natural (not B flat) like the base line.

Words of 'Dyn y Tywydd' by Leah Owen

It has come to our attention that copies of this song have been circulated from the Eisteddfod office which numerous mistakes. The correct version has now been placed on our website and every adjudicator has received the correct version. Each competitor should sing:

Verse 1. 3rd line should read ‘Gwisgwch gôt a welis mawr

Verse 2. 4th  line should read ‘Rhag iddo chwythu i’r afon!

Competition Number 86 – Cerdd Dant Duet Years 10 and under 19 years old

Mae’n wlad i mi – Dafydd Iwan

Verse 4 – Mae’n wlad i mi ac mae’n wlad i tithau

This version is correct instead of 'thithau' as it's written on copies that were initially sent out from the Eisteddfod office.

Words: ‘Tydi Ddim yn Rhy Hwyr’, Robin Llwyd ab Owain

Air: ‘Llwyndyrus’, Siôn

 

In the book, 'Allwedd y Tannau' it has been noted that the order of the air 'Llwyndyrus' is 122 but in the Urdd syllabus, the order has been noted as 112 -this is the correct version due to the mood of the words.

We allow individuals to change the vowels to the following words:

Crystie instead of Crystia

Caled instead of Calad

Cyrlen instead of Cyrlan

When the character 'Beili 1' reacts for the fourth time on page 2, it should say  ‘Mrs Beasley’, instead of ‘Mrs Trefor’ as is noted on the original copy.
