History

Since 2015, the best speakers at the Urdd Eisteddfod's Public Speaking competitions win the opportunity to visit Brussels, organized by Tom Jones, the UK and Wales Economic and Social Council representative for the Local Government Association.

The trip

Annually the tour includes a visit to the European Parliament, as a way for our members to learn about European politics.

They also meet Welsh speakers working in the Welsh Office in Brussels to discover and learn about their work and their role in European politics.

The award is given to best speakers from the school teams and Aelwyd (community) teams of the Urdd Eisteddfod's Public Speaking competitions since 2015.
